Botanische kenmerken

Annual herb, 20–40 cm, with fine feathery leaves and white ray florets around a yellow disc. When crushed the flower smells of apple.

Herkomst

Southern and Eastern Europe; naturalised in temperate zones worldwide.

Traditioneel gebruik

Among the most documented herbs of the European materia medica. In monastic gardens since the early Middle Ages.
